PERSEPOLIS blog#1

In Persepolis the author tries to show how life was like during the Iranian War. She tries to show how the Iranians’ fight for their freedom and how hard it was to live during a war. What prevents people from having their whole freedom is the society that chooses to believe less than one god. A country that likes to have a mono-religion tends to not have a fair amount of freedom. In this book Persepolis they try to follow the rules, but at the same time have fun that’s against the rule. In order not to get caught the family has to have fun in secrecy. It was hard enjoying life while a war was going on, and trying to stay calm when the society is trying to give out orders and enforcing rules, having no freedom. The family tries to go on a strike, and ran away because the strike was getting pulverized by the swat group. The family had little freedom, so instead they chose to let their little girl to have freedom and good life so they had send her away to study and become an educated young lady.

The kids were still trying to look hip even under risk, they still dressed under the code but wear the hip clothes. They wear around area that can be not be shown or shown a little. I would probably try the same thing, but no. I wouldn’t want to take that risk, so instead I wouldn’t try to look hip. They refuse to take off their hippish clothing’s or accessories, and attacks the teachers. She is a young girl living with her mother and father trying to survive through the war.

The book Persepolis was telling a story of a young girl who lived through a hard time in her life with a war going on. But at the same time the story was giving a moral lesson to young readers like us. Some of the morals were not to try to grow up so soon. Never do unsure things you’re not sure about. This book suggests us readers to be wise with our lives and not waste it. Some of the stories in Persepolis told by Satrapi relatives were stories that could influence others. Their stories made Satrapi proud of them. They were her role models, her inspirations. Stories can come from many different kind of background, and still make young readers think about their life and reflect on it. The stories with a moral always catch young readers’ attentions unknowingly.
